PROOFING

Find new and creative ways to ensure that your work is correct.
  • Proof by word shape
  • Have someone enter and proof the text for you
  • Print your work and have it proofed by someone else
  • Proof letter-by-letter
  • Read the text out loud
  • Enter the work before you need it and take a break from it before proofing


PURPLE FOLDERS

Make sure repeat information is properly managed
  • Always check the purple folder before writing up orders
  • Make sure that needed information gets into the purple folder in a timely fashion
  • Make notes in the folder in such a way that everyone understands them
  • Clearly mark revisions and revision dates on old information


READ and UNDERSTAND the ENTIRE ORDER

Ensure that all information is present, legible and the write-up is understandable
  • Look through all information in write-up
  • Examine all prints and other information about the order from the customer (Primary Documents)
  • Read through Write-Up and make sure that all information agrees with Primary Documents
  • Compare all information to the TCE Packing List
  • ASK QUESTIONS EARLY and OFTEN
